2015 CHARITY QUILTING BEE!!

Each month Rebekah will give us instructions and a color palette to make a block. In the spirit of modern quilting, most of the blocks will be improv based with a final size specification.  Then we have the option to make a block of our own and bring it to the following month’s meeting.   We’ll combine all of the finished blocks into a quilt that will be donated to one of our local charities.
This is a low pressure bee. If you want to make a block, bring it. If you want to make more than one, that’s great. If you’re out of time and can’t make a block, that’s fine, too.

The Detroit Area Modern Quilt Guild (DAMQG) is a vibrant community of quilters in the Metro Detroit area who share a passion for modern design. Our work ranges from reimagining traditional patterns with bold, contemporary fabrics to creating completely improvisational pieces without patterns.

Our meetings are full of creativity and inspiration, featuring local speakers, hands-on demonstrations, fun challenges, swaps, and—everyone’s favorite—Show & Tell! Members also enjoy occasional weekend sew-ins, workshops, and retreats that foster learning and connection.

Founded in January 2013, DAMQG is proud to be a branch of the Modern Quilt Guild. We welcome new members of all skill levels—come join us and be part of our modern quilting community!
